Terror in Litchfield
Pat was a small-framed woman who enjoyed the simple things in life.
She spent most of her days as a housewife caring for her daughter and
husband.
While in her mid-fifties, Pat was hanging laundry up to dry in her
back yard when she was suddenly thrown down by an unseen attacker and
raped. Pat was able to walk to her neighbor's house after the attack.
The police arrived shortly after and took a report. Pat was unable to
give any description of her attacker, as she was not able to look at
him while being attacked.
A few weeks after this attack, terrifying unexplained events began
at occur to and around Pat. While sitting at breakfast one day, a coffee
cup lifted up on its own and slowly spun through the air. While spinning
in front of Pat and her daughter, nothing was spilled from the cup.
After about thirty seconds, the cup flew quickly across the room and
smashed against the wall. Pat knew from that point on that something
had entered her life from the demonic realm.
Over the course of a few weeks, Pat's husband and daughter began to
witness the pheneomena. Levitations of large pieces of furniture, foul
odors, and a drastic change in Pat's demeanor and behavior were deeply
troubling to the family. Pat was experiencing periods where she would
blackout and have no memory of what occurred for hours. During these
episodes, her family would be witness to foreign voices emitting from
and around Pat's body. The tiny woman would develop amazing strength
beyond that which her body could naturally generate.
During these episodes, Pat would writhe and twist on the floor like
a snake, and attack her daughter physically. It was clear to the family
members that something beyond medicine and the mind was happening. John
Zaffis was brought in after being contacted by the family in an attempt
to shed light on the terrifying events that had occurred over the past
several weeks. John was able to document, along with other researchers,
evidence of a diabolical force at work not only in the home, but also
through Pat herself. John worked diligently to rule out all possible
psychological and medical explanations for what was occurring with Pat.
What resulted was one of the lengthiest and most intense cases John
has ever been involved with.
The investigation of Pat's case was lengthy and resulted in 15 exorcisms
being performed over her over a 4 year period. The length and intensity
of the case were among the most extreme John has ever been involved
in. Pat was freed of the demons which plagued her for so long at the
last exorcism. Though Pat described the feeling that it was still around
her at times, it never manipulated or invaded her as it did in the past.
