John Zaffis has over thirty six years experience studying and investigating the paranormal. He has had the opportunity to work for and with his aunt and uncle, Ed and Lorraine Warren. This sent John beyond looking for ghosts and hauntings and into studying demonology under the Warrens. This led into John's involvement with cases of possession and exorcism and working with prominent exorcists in this field. Roman Catholic priests, monks, Buddhists, rabbis and ministers. John has assisted and worked with well-known exorcists Bishop Robert McKenna, Malachi Martin and the Rev Jun.

His research has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, England and Scotland covering several thousands of cases. Through hands on investigating with other investigators and clergy, he has obtained a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the paranormal and is considered one of the foremost authorities in the field today.

Ghosts and poltergeists where among some of his first-hand paranormal experiences, as well as the demonic and diabolical. He has also worked extensively with both spiritualists and psychics concerning how their knowledge is used for channeling, reincarnation (past-life regression), or the calling of the spirits for information, and how they use meditation to acquire the information which they are seeking. Because of his personal experiences with hauntings, ESP, near death experiences and other paranormal activities, he is firm in his conviction that such phenomena exist.

John has been featured in the Discovery Channel's documentaries A Haunting in Connecticut and Little Lost Souls. John has also appeared on Unsolved Mysteries, Fox News Live, and many other print and news media events. John is also in the books of Ed and Lorraine Warren Graveyards and In A Dark Place. John's first book, Shadows of the Dark, co-written with Brian McIntyre, was released in September, 2004. John is working on multiple follow-up books currently, and is lecturing all over the United States at colleges and universities. General Info

This site exists to help people who are having paranormal experiences or are being tormented by harmful spirits. This site does not exist to make money, and we do not endorse or sell products. We conduct an honest investigation and will give you an honest evaluation of the haunting.

We do not charge for conducting an investigation. We will ask for travel reimbursement, which can include gas, airline tickets, phone and tolls. We generally travel by car whenever possible to keep the costs to a minimum. Due to the reality that there are always those who can not financially reimburse this amount, the fee will vary on case by case basis.

Before the investigation begins, the lead investigator will do an initial interview. At this time, all people involved will be interviewed. You can expect some rather to-the-point and personal questions. They will be asked for the sole intent of getting into the background of the haunting.

Any audio/video recordings or photographs taken are strictly the property of PRSNE. We will let you know of any findings of a particular case, solely to those involved, as it becomes necessary. We hold each case in the strictest of confidence. We will never reveal actual identities of individuals unless given specific written permission by the individuals involved.

Please do not ask for actual reports on the case, they will not be released even if given permission by the individuals involved. These reports are the sole property of PRSNE.

Kids and Ghosts

With kids and ghosts there are allot of questions coming up today, do they experience the phenomena like the little boy in "The Sixth Sense"? Yes, children do experience this type of thing because they are very innocent and very pure to the supernatural and this will attract spirits to them naturally. Kids do not have an understanding at this point to be afraid of the ghost or spirits. They are not afraid of these things until they start growing up and realize or we train them to be afraid. This is especially true when we do not understand unusual occurrence's like ghosts.

What we have to remember as adults is, we are programmed to block out things like seeing or hearing ghosts or imaginary play friends. We really do not pay too much attention to kids and will say, "ok" and block it from our minds so the kids will go back to playing and live us alone. How do you know if something is around? Sometimes it might be worth checking into and you will see that there is nothing actually supernatural. I can't tell you how many times I've had conversations with people that tell me about the experiences they had as kids seeing ghosts .

We must be very careful with this, because spirits can attract good and bad spirits and we don't realize it until it is happening and then we wish we had listened to our kids. A very good friend of mine, Denise Jones and her little boy had the same type of scenario that took place in her home. Denise did not pay to much attention to it and then it got out of hand. To this day she wishes she had stopped and checked it out to see if something was going on with her son on a supernatural realm. Things were to the point that everyone was experiencing things in the home and a exorcism had to be performed to get rid of supernatural forces that had moved in.

Denise had written a book called "The Other Side", detailing their whole involvement in dealing with this. So you see it is always very good to listen and checkout what the children are saying to you. Things can escalate and that is usually when we end up getting involved. It doesn't mean that there is something supernatural going on. But take some advice from a ghost hunter like myself, and listen to what the children have to say, it can be just a imaginary thing but I would look into it to be on the safe side.

The Old Pine Tree

This is about a case I investigated where the individuals in the family did not follow through with the instructions left behind by the deceased uncle. They had no children of their own so he left family members to follow through with his wishes of being cremated and his ashes were to be spread around an old pine tree in the back of the home.

He had died two years prior to his wife and she was in ailing health at the time and was not up to following through with any of this at the time and put the urn with the ashes in a closet. Her health deteriorated over the next two years and she completely forgot about the ashes in the closet. She passed away and the home was put up for sale with allot of the their personal affects left behind including the urn.

A family purchased the home and was removing allot of the things left behind and discovered the ashes and called the family to come and remove the urn out of the home. This was not part of the sale so the relatives had to take the urn out and brought it home with them. Soon after that the haunting began and things escalated in the home. Lights going on and off in the basement where the workbench was with all his tools and an ice cold spot in living room where he sat in his favorite chair and the smell of tobacco in certain areas of the home. After talking to the family members they found out that some of the spots were his favorite areas for him.

At this time I began an investigating into the situation and found out that family did not spread the ashes around the big old tree on the property. The tree was cut down and removed for a new septic system and the family did not see any sense in doing this after that. At this time I know is was time for someone to make contact with the relatives and have them come over and spread the ashes in this area and hope this would resolve the problem at hand.

The family responded and the ashes where spread out in this area where he had requested it. Lo and behold all the things stopped and it all worked out good for the new family. So as you can you see it is always good to listen to the folks at the time they pass away. And if we can follow though with the last wishes when we are asked to, this can help with the deceased one to, pass over and to be with loved ones and family.

Page 3 Ghost Adviceby John ZaffisTo help you with getting rid of a ghost (or any psychic phenomena) can be tricky business. It is hard to do if you are scared or you do not really like handling this type of situation.I've often been asked what to do if a house is haunted, and I have developed a set of general guidelines. Without coming to your home, I can't make an accurate "diagnosis" of the situation, so the information below may or may not alleviate your haunting symptoms.In the interest of helping people who may live far from a Researcher's geographic area, I thought that publishing some general guidelines may be of help to some people. Keep in mind that my suggestions on how to rid your home of psychic phenomena is based strongly on my faith. If you feel that you may have a haunting and would like to try to rid the premises of the "ghost", I suggest the following:1. Make certain that each member of the household has been baptized (or its equivalent in your religion). If someone in the household has not been baptized, please arrange for this to take place as soon as possible. This will sometimes help to eliminate all the activity in the home.2. The use of Ouija boards, Tarot cards, mediums, séances, psychics, spiritualists, magic, or witchcraft--or dealing in anything to do with the supernatural realm may increase the activity in the home. I believe that such methods can be extremely dangerous and if they are being used in your household, or by any of your household members. Use of these objects or practices can invite spirits into our human world, I believe that this "opens doors" which you create by using these methods and may also invite the demonic and other unwanted spirits. If you are having psychic phenomena occur after engaging in any of these activities, your "haunting" may well be more serious than can be dealt with in this article. It is estimated that 90% of our worst cases begin with a Ouija board.3. Make certain that each room of your house has a religious icon from the religion practiced in your household in it. To give you a good example of what I mean, a preliminary inquiry into a situation with a house with 2 roommates was haunted. One roommate was Jewish, another Catholic, each brought religious icons from his faith into the home, and soon the haunting phenomena disappeared. What religion you practice is less important than the fact that you have faith!4. Have your priest (or the appropriate official from your faith) come to your home and have it blessed. Be certain that each room is blessed. Open all closet doors, the dryer door, refrigerator doors, and even large containers and boxes (i.e. any closed-in space) prior to the blessing, so that the "spirit" will not have anyplace to hide. You may close the doors and containers after the blessing of the home is completed. And try not to think about it. The less recognition you give to the situation the better you are.5. If you are confronted with or witness the phenomena, you may command it to leave. In your bravest, most commanding voice, shout "In the name of Jesus Christ (or the appropriate deity for your faith) I command you to leave this place and go back to where you came from!" You need to say this emphatically, so that you are taken seriously. Take control of your own home. Do not let the "spirit" take it over. The more fear you show to it, the more power it has.6. Giving the "spirit" recognition can also give it power. Avoid talking about it in your home, and perhaps avoid talking about it altogether. Try to think of the positive things you or your family are trying to accomplish in your lives.I hope that you find these suggestions helpful. If you follow them, and are still having problems, please contact me. I'll be happy to help and give more personalized advice if I can. I'll need a detailed description of what's going on, and a telephone number where you can be contacted. I will do my best to help you and your familyI've developed a set of general guidelines for demonic activity. But first you must rule out all natural causes such as mental and or physical illness. I suggest that you see a doctor and have every possible test for the symptoms you are having and to have everything from a scientific point of view or logical explanation looked into. Is the home on a site that has gases coming up from the ground or coming into the home or are there power lines above your home. Are animals nesting in the walls or getting in and out of the home? Is it an old home, can it be the plumbing, or is the home settling. All of this must be looked into before seeking out legitimate help. If you ruled out all of this it is time to consult with your clergy and you might need some help at this point with someone that deals with this type of phenomena in this field.The Levels of Demonic Activity1. InfestationAt this point has someone or something done something to you. Are you experiencing lights going on and off, doors opening and closing, cold spots, footsteps, voices, the TV going on and off, telephone ringing? Do you feel like someone or something just went by or is watching you? Occurrences with all of the electrical appliances going on and off, or just bizarre things, this can be the beginning stages of infestation.2. OppressionYou see and know something is not right, voices are telling you to do things that your not used to doing. They will turn you against loved ones, make you feel something is around you or touching you. A lot of arguing with others will take place, your whole life will turn inside out. You can't sleep at night, you are not eating allot, food is just not good to you at this time. No one can figure out what is going on with you, your whole personality changes. You have no energy to do anything at all, this is the process of wearing you down and it is oppressing you.3. PossessionPure possession is very rare, but at this time it can and will if you let it, it has the ability to go in and out of you at it's will. It will talk in different languages, have enormous strength behind it, make you believe anything at this time and you will, turn you against everyone and push everyone out of your life especially the ones you love. It will convince you that everything you want you can have and that you can achieve all of this. It's main goal at this point and objective is to gain full control of you. This is where you need to seek out help from family, clergy or someone in this work. TWINS: ED & BABE By John Zaffis
I'd like to tell you a story about twins. They say that there is a connection between twins, and that they share a lot of different things neither one of them is aware of it. This story is about Ed Warren and his twin sister Babe. They grew up in a haunted house in Bridgeport, Conn.At the age of five, they had their first ghostly experience. They could hear some-one walking up the front staircase into the kitchen, and turn on the light , but no one would be there. This would scare them so much that they would hide in their bedroom closet. This would eventually lead Ed Warren into a career pursuing ghosts and haunted dwellings. His sister would not have anything to do with it, if you asked her about the ghostly experience, she would tell you to ask her brother Ed , because she was afraid of the supernatural. Getting back to the connection between twins, Ed Warren is not a psychic person, so for him to experience things with his deceased twin sister is something of a personal nature.While Babe was in her home nearing the end, she experienced seeing apparitions of deceased family members. She would see her mother, and several other relatives. I would ask her "Mom, who is here in the room with you now?" She would tell me who was with her, then I would tease her, and say, "Ask them how it is over there". She would tell me that they would not say anything to her, they would just smile at her. Then I would say to her, "How will I know what its like over there, when you cross over, you will have to come back and tell me." My mother would get a serious look on her face, and wouldnt respond.One day when I was teasing her about this, she looked at me, and said, "Ill tell you what, Ill come back and tell my brother that everything is okay over there." I laughed and said "Okay mom, you do that." Several months later she passed away. After her passing, I was visiting with Ed, he came over and said to me, "I had a dream about my sister, I dont know if this is for you or your father, but she said everything is okay over there." At that time I remembered the remark she had made. At that point, every emotion inside of me went cold. I turned around and left the room, my emotions havent been that wild since the day she died.A short time after that I was with Ed, and he was telling me of the dream he had of his sister in a beautiful forest. In the forest he saw a lot of big trees, and a waterfall with her by it, and he said, "John there were all kinds of beautiful flowers and all kinds of colors, pastels." I asked Ed , "What color stood out to you Ed ?" "Why do you want to know that, John?" asked Ed. "Just curious," I said "I think it was blue, some red and pinks." Stunned, I said, "Ed, blue was Babes favorite color." Ed asked me, "Why such an intense look on your face?" "I know I never told you or anyone else, of a little remark your sister said to me, in regards to coming back, to let us know everything was okay." Ed and I looked at each other and said, "I guess now we know she is okay where she is." And I said "Im glad she is in such a beautiful place."I thought this story would be a nice tribute to the twins, and to know that it is true, you can communicate in different ways, from beyond the grave. September marks the birth of Ed and Babe, and unfortunately, the passing of Babe.

Demonology: The Study of Fallen Angels by John Zaffis
DEVILS & DEMONSby John ZaffisThe History of Demonology is one that is quite unclear before 1160 B.C. But writings from 1170 B.C. states that Magic was first conceived in a city called Persida and that a Nomad named Klingsor traveled there and brought back with him the art of Magically effecting whatever he wished. When Klingsor found the strength of his true powers he began to brag about how sly and cunning he was to get women into bed, but that served him no justice after he got caught sleeping with the kings wife (The Queen). Klingsor was castrated and turned into a Eunuch and never again looked favorably upon man nor woman again, he enjoyed seeing other people suffer and that was the only thing that gave him great joy. This was one of the first recorded examples of the weak becoming empowered by sacrificing themselves to the Devils and Demons in exchange for sweet revenge. We find the word Magic used above simply because any time you entered into the world of conjuring or summoning evil or dark forces that is what it was called, later threw the centuries magic took on many forms like Elemental, White, Dark, Black, Etc and then Demononology was given it's own Category.I have been very fortunate to be able to study Demonology under Ed Warren for the last 26 years. I did not always believe that there were devils and demons, until I started working on cases of a demonic nature. Like they say seeing is believing. When you see people tortured by biting, scratches, burn marks and being thrown around inside churches by unseen forces, you tend to change your mind. It is especially hard not to believe, when you know these individuals are physically and mentally sane after reviewing their medicals reports. After working on many cases there are different levels of demons, in the next few paragraphs I will explain the different things they are capable of. I dedicate this page to my uncle and aunt Ed and Lorraine Warren for all of the hard knocks, bumps and knowledge that I had to learn to get where I am today.Are demons merely emanations or influences, or powers? There are three attributes of personality. If it can be proven that something has all three of these attributes, then that something is a personality. These three attributes are intellect, emotion, and will. First, do demons have intellect? YES, and this is evident in many ways, demons know their own future doom, demons know that GOD is one, demons have a counterfeit system of doctrine and have the ability to communicate by speech. Second, do demons have emotions? YES, and this can be seen in two ways, first they have the emotion of fierceness and anger and second, they have the emotion of fear. Third do they have will? YES this can be seen in three ways, they have the will to make requests, they have the will to obey commands and orders and have the will to leave a person, and seek a new place to live or return to the place where they came from. Do we know the origin of the Demons? This is a lengthy topic in and of itself. In the interest of space we will summarize by noting that demons originated when they fell with Satan at the time of his fall. Do we know the number of Demons no we cannot determine their precise number, we can be certain that it is great indeed. For example, a legion of demons residing in one person can be consisted of anywhere from 3 to 1,000 demons. As to how many demons there are the answer is innumerable.In a more specific sense, we should be aware of particular activities carried out by demons. For instance a demon can control and inflict physical maladies like dumbness, muteness, deafness, epilepsy and personal injury. Demons can cause suicide, they can give great physical strength, they can possess animals, cause men to worship demons, promote false doctrine and oppose the spiritual growth of believers. They even attempt to separate believers from the love of God, and to take control of all from within. But not all physical maladies are caused by demons. There is a distinction between physical problems caused by human frailty, illness and those caused by demons. Demonic control, sometimes inaccurately called demonic possession, must be defined. The Greek daimonizomai means "to be demonized" emphasizing control rather than possession, in fact, the Greek word for possession is never used in conjunction with demons. We must realize that the original Greek though commonly translated as possessed by a demon, implying ownership is much more accurately translated to mean controlled by a demon.Thus emphasizes residency in that the demon is residing within a person. By way of definition then demonic control involves a demon residing in a person and exercising direct control over that person with a certain degree of derangement of the mind and or physical upset of the body. How can one tell if someone is or is not controlled by a demon from within? Before briefly mentioning specific symptoms, a word needs to be said in order to keep a balanced perspective. These symptoms of demonic control by and of themselves do not prove that demons are residing in a person, because there may be other problems that cause these very same symptoms. This balance must be kept and one must be careful not to go overboard in one direction or another. One extreme claims that there is no demonic activity today, the second extreme blames demons for virtually everything. Both extremes must be avoided. Now that you have a good idea of what a Demonologist is and what he is looking for by the way of a person being possessed. We catalog everything going on so when you encounter a Demon you will know as much about it for the next time you either encounter it or come across it.GHOSTS, DEMONS & DEVILSBy Brian McIntyreMany people have wondered what the differences are between ghosts, demons, and devils. The answer is that there is no easy answer, there are general guidelines used when determining which is which but as always, there are always exceptions to the rule. After many years of research and investigations by countless people, there seems to be a set standard by which most paranormal entities have been classified. The following definitions and guidelines will describe their unique characteristics.Human SpiritThis type of spirit is the most commonly reported and accepted by those who have had some type of encounter with one. It is often said that our thoughts, our personality, and essentially that which is our essence survives the process we label as death. Death instead of an end is actually a transition, a part of the process of life and spiritual attainment and advancement. Fundamentally, many theories from different cultures and belief systems adopt the notion that this energy that makes us all unique lives on after the body is long gone and decrepit. Many individuals report seeing actual physical presences while others feel the presence or sense it. Others may witness the slamming of doors, appearances of spirit or energy in photos, or disembodied voices caught on tape recordings whose vocalizations, when tested, sometimes reside on a frequency which no human on this plane can duplicate vocally. No matter how it manifests you still have a visitor. This is not to say that all locations are haunted, but many homes, business, parks, cemeteries, woodlands, and actually anywhere that exists has the possibility of a haunting.Human spirit is often thought to be attracted to certain individuals because of their sensitivity, or psychic abilities, and also due to the energy field around the body: the human aura.Human spirit also tends to reside in areas which were familiar and comfortable to them in life. Also they may reside in the vicinity of a tragedy in which they were involved with. With human spirit the possibilities are endless and each case is completely circumstantial based on the actual evidence. With this type of phenomena there can be fright because it is indeed something we do not wholly understand or accept, but the chances of real harm are far less than spiritual beings which are stronger and part of a different categorization.The Demonic SpiritDemonology is for the most part considered, especially in such times where science rules modern man, an unconventional science or area of study. Essentially it is a legit field which encompasses many endeavors to explain what most consider to be a myth. By the categorization, study, and actual witness to phenomena which is considered diabolical, one who embarks in this field tries to understand the nature of these energies which have intelligence, the ability to interact on this plane of existence, and the abilities to coerce man into his own downfall.In referring to the demonic, many visions come to mind. Fiery monsters from some hellish abyss tend to fill the mind of those who have seen their supposed likeness in modern media-based depictions. In regards to investigative work such horrid visions are a complete rarity. When the demonic lashes out it is usually in complete invisibility. The best way to frighten is to lash out almost undetected. If a visual does occur it may be in a completely anonymous form. Often dark black, wispy shapes are seen in cases where the demonic are concerned. It relies on this anonymity to conceal its identity. Its main strength is the ability to conceal itself. By causing disbelief, confusion, and a general consensus of harmlessness, the demonic spirit operates best and at its full strength. The demonic will try to scare and grab a foothold where infestation is concerned. This stages precedes encroachment, the stage where permission was granted either willingly or unwillingly for the spirit or spirits to take hold. This stage is much like phenomena caused by human spirit. Attention grabbers and minor scare tactics will arise to establish a fuel source. That fuel the very fear one throws off when experiencing that which they do not understand. It needs to be recognized to gain the ability to grow in intensity and needs its fuel composed of fear and basic human weaknesses.Next, if the progression continues, oppression will set in. This stage is far greater than that of infestation. Now a mental barrage of temptation, terrible dreams, and fear may consume the person who is experiencing the assault of senses. Constant sleep depravation may be used as well to break down the targeted individual or individuals. The demonic knows the weaknesses of those who it attacks, using these weaknesses to continue to gain muscle and potency. Also the physical phenomena will increase in both duration and intensity. Larger, heavier objects will move, hard poundings may occur, actual biting and scratching may occur as part of the debasing physical assaults on the intended victim. Oppression may take weeks, months, or even years, and there is no guarantee if the barrage will work so the struggle often becomes more and more intense. Therefore, by slithering about, stalking the essence of the individual, it can be very constant and intensify as resistance is applied. There is no time in the spirit world, these sinister and cunning spirits trying to execute the most intelligent plan of attack to dominate and conquer the will of that person. It is this stage where the demonic is setting the person up for the ultimate goal and desire: possession.DevilsDevils. The term is used to describe those negative spiritual beings which are higher up on the scale pertaining to ability. By categorical means, this spirit is essentially much more powerful, intelligent, and even more menacing and cunning. Where this callous spirit is concerned huge objects may be moved, the manipulation of blessed objects may occur, the materialization of matter, teleportation, levitations of humans and objects, and more vile behavior which transcends basic spirit activity.These are in essence the commanders of the demonic militia. They will step in and take charge if need be and are more repulsive and sacrilegious than many can even imagine. The fear God because of their pride, the reason why they are shrouded in darkness to begin with.Whether it is a demon or a higher-elevated monger of hate, one thing is for sure. You still have a problem to deal with. Few will come face to face with these satanic spirits, but those who have cannot doubt their existence.DO SPIRITS REALLY EXIST?The answer to a question such as this depends solely on who you ask. The simple answer is YES, spirits do exist. We may never truly understand why although very good theories are prominent.There are those who believe that the existence of spirits is only in the imagination of people. These people will tend to say that if a particular person wants to see a ghost badly enough, they WILL see a ghost... what they are actually saying is people make up their own ghosts. Many skeptics will explain away photographic evidence as dust particles, water spots, film or processing defects or the like. Sometime these explanations are even more outlandish and far fetched than the fact that they actually may be Images of spirits. Although skeptics' jobs are to disprove most, if not all evidence of "afterlife", much can be learned by their skepticism. We all must question the authenticity of evidence gathered, even if that evidence was taken by ourselves. Always look for the natural causes before determining evidence as being paranormal.There will always be controversy between people and organizations as to the true nature of what we are experiencing, in the paranormal way of thinking. There are both people and organizations that believe that every case encountered is demonic or diabolical. In reality, the odds of encountering preternatural entities are much lower than experiencing human spirits. Of course, demonic or diabolical occurrences are much more popular to the public and there are people who will explain most cases as being preternatural in nature for popularity sake.On the opposite end of the coin are the people who believe that the devil and / or demons do not exist. We have encountered many religious authorities who, although live the life of religion, insist that there is no such thing as evil existing on earth. There are also people who believe the same ideas. We must always remember that where there is good, there is evil. Where there are miracles, there are possessions. Where there are Angelic visits, there are demonic and diabolical infestations. If we close our eyes to the negative side of life and death, we become vulnerable to its influence.The key point is that spirits do exist. Not only do good human spirits roam the earth, bad human spirits do also. In many occasions, where there are human spirits, you may likely have inhuman spirits who are out to torment those earthbound human spirits. Lastly, Angelic spirits are also present, although usually not encountered as often as the others.THE OUIJA BOARD & IT'S HISTORYby John ZaffisSince the beginning, people have been able to make some type of communication with the Ouija board and through other methods of communication. This has caused a tremendous amount of problems for allot of people, especially those inexperienced. You can play with the Ouija board and nothing will happen, but somewhere in the future something could. You must remember there is no time in the spirit world, things do not have to happen right away. Things will start to happen just when you seem to have everything going good for you, and then it hits you, just when you least expect it. I can tell you that I've worked on many cases where things will occur one to seven years later. I would like to share with you some of the history of the most controversial things I know of and that is the old Ouija board. I do not recommend that you play with this board, as something, somewhere, somehow, will hit, as it always does.In 1853, a French man named M. Planchette invented a device that would be named for him. The Planchette was a small, heart-shaped table with pencils attached to its legs. Those who used it claimed that it operated by spirit force and ghosts were able to write out messages from beyond. But a short time later, another invention would revolutionize the Spiritualist movement and have an impact that still resounds today... the Ouija board. Shortly after the planchette came to America, a cabinet and coffin maker from Maryland named E.C. Reiche devised a new method of communicating with the dead. He devised a wooden lap tray with the letters of the alphabet arranged in two lines across the center of the board. Below these letters, he placed the numbers 1-10 and the words YES and NO in each lower corner of the board. He kept the planchette connected to his board but removed the pencil tips and placed wooden pegs on the bottom of it. In this way, the planchette was free to move about the board. It was always believed that Reiche named his board the Ouija because the name represented the French and German words for yes (OUI AND JA) but this was not the case.He named it that because he believed that the word ''Ouija'' was actually Egyptian for luck. Needless to say, it's not, but since he claimed to receive the words from a spirit on the board, the name stuck. But Reiche was more interested in spirits than making money and he sold the invention to his friend, Charles Kennard. He soon founded the Kennard Novelty Co. and began producing the first commercial Ouija boards. Shortly after the company started, the shop manager William Fuld decided to go into business for himself. He forced Kennard out of the business and changed the name to the Ouija Novelty Co. He began producing the ''Fuld's talking Board" in record numbers and became a successful businessman. He became a member of the Baltimore General Assembly in later life, but all was not well. He remained in control of the company for the next 35 years but in 1927 during a brief slump in sales, Fuld strangely took his own life. He climbed to the top of a Baltimore building and jumped to his death. Fuld had created a new industry with the Ouija board, which he claimed to have invented himself.He started the apocryphal tales of the naming of the board (using oui and ja) and claimed many of his successful sales plans came from the board itself. His heirs maintained the company until 1966, when they sold out to Parker Brothers. Today this company owns all of the rights and trademarks to the board and still produces it in large numbers. In spite of the fact that it is now sold in toy stores, it remains an exact duplicate of the Spiritualist board that was sold many years ago. The Ouija board is one of the most controversial methods of communication ever invented. It has been condemned by parents and religious groups, they often cite this for cases of a malevolent forces masquerading as good. This can cause emotional damage and sometimes even possession, and is this possible? YES, this is a link to the dark side, where you can not control what can come through. "I CAN'T AND YOU CAN'T"!
